Author Interview and Giveaway: Suzan Battah

Please give a warm welcome to Suzan Battah, author of BaSatai: Outside In!
Hi everyone, I'm Suzan Battah. I live in Sydney, Australia. My favorite past-time is reading but I also love going to the movies, Latin and Ballroom Dancing.
3LB: Who or what inspired you to write? Do you have any role models, whether in writing or life in general?
The OutsidersI have many inspirations in the writing world especially JK Rowling, Stephanie Meyer, Richelle Mead are all great inspirations for me but also SE Hinton, Stephanie Laurens are big influences on my writing and who I want to be as a writer.
3LB: Create a haiku about BaSatai: Outside In.
Silent feet run fast,
Over broken rock! Seeing
One way, protect life.
3LB: Who decided on the title of your novel?
Me, of course! But if you hear my mum try and pronounce the title with her accent, it's quite funny.
3LB: Are any of your characters or scenes based on people/events in your own life?
In my writing, I don't generally use people or events in my own life, all my stories are purely fictional. I do however use situations that may occur in my own life and change, embellish and visualize a whole new problem for my characters which requires a wild imagination which fortunately I have one. Each character in my novels have some part of me but are also their own individuals with personalities. So when faced with these incredible situations that I throw at them, how and what they do in action and reaction is amazing to write.
Mad About the Boy3LB: If you could hang out with one of your characters for a day, who would it be?
Valko because he's completely annoying, very entertaining and would make me laugh all day I think. He has a big mouth, says what he thinks, even though he's arrogant and cocky, he'll still has a heart deep down - there is good in him even when he's aggravating.
3LB: What’s next for you? What other books have you written?
Very exciting tour with BaSatai: Outside In. The second book in the BaSatai series is currently being written. I've also been very fortunate to have published my first novel Mad About the Boy a contemporary, multicultural romance in 2011 and it's receiving some rave reviews.
3LB: Describe yourself in 3 words.
Friendly, Helpful and Passionate
3LB: If you bring to life any book character in history, who would you chose?
Ooooh, only 1 character! Are you sure, only one, I'm pretty sure I could pick out at least fifty which would make a fun world to live in. Okay, I pick Adrian from Vampire Academy Series, I'm single and happy to be his special someone because Rose is very happy with Dimitri. That's my choice and I'm sticking with it.
3LB: Name one guilty pleasure you have.
Gossip Girl (can't help myself)
3LB: Time travel: Future or past? And where and when would you go to?
Past - Straight back to 1818 to marry a Regency Lord of course I will be a Lady.
3LB: Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I loved being on this blog with Lucia and thank you so much for having me. As a new author, it's great to share my work and meet new readers. Join me on any on my social networks. I can't always respond straight away but if you want to chat about books or my books :) lets have some fun. And most of all spread the word about BaSatai: Outside In available April 14th 2012.
